Walk-on cable trays ensure safe working in industry

The protection of people, machines and installations is of key importance in industry. Robust materials and high safety standards ensure that, even under the toughest conditions, reliable operation, e.g. of large production lines, is guaranteed.

In these rough industrial conditions, a stable, high-performance electrical installation is required to provide the systems reliably with power and data.

The heavy-duty, walk-on cable trays from OBO Bettermann ensure both safety in electrical installations and offer protection to workers in the industry. For this to work even better, OBO has expanded the BKRS system even further. With side heights of 100 and 110 mm, the cable trays are designed for high loads, as can frequently occur in the vicinity of machines and automated product systems with robot systems. With six widths between 100 mm and 600 mm available, there is a suitable cable tray system for every possible application.

Two millimetre-thick trays, lids and Z separating retainers can accept large loads on account of their construction. If all the technical specifications are complied with, OBO can guarantee a traffic load of up to 9 kN, depending on the mounting type. The lids, with their aluminium corrugated sheet surfaces, are non-slip to make sure workers are always on a solid footing. This also reduces the risk of accidents in everyday use.

The support brackets provide even more mounting space. Below the stand-off trays, clamp clips can be used to guide additional media. In this mounting variant, an optional lower extension protection prevents dirt deposits beneath the trays and also helps to prevent accidents. All kinds of conditions are encountered in modern industrial plants. Often the environment is harsh, with dirt, high temperatures, vibrations and similar influences, posing a serious risk to sensitive power, data and control cables. The BKRS system creates a closed mounting spaces for cables, which avoids the ingress of direct and provides protection against mechanical and electromagnetic loads.
