Protection solutions for the tower of wind power plants
The tower is not only the largest, but also the heaviest, part of a wind power plant. It can weigh up to several hundred tons. It holds the nacelle and the rotors of the wind turbine. The height of the tower depends on its location. At locations with strong winds – for example, on the coast – a lower height is sufficient compared to locations with high terrain roughness such as forests.
Particularly robust and durable electrical installation solutions are required here, regardless of whether it is a steel tower, a concrete tower or a hybrid wind turbine tower. This is because the cable support systems, such as cable ducts or cable ladders, are used along the entire length of the wind turbine tower.
