"Dear Imaginary Audience" – RKS-Magic cable trays again become part of an art installation
In the exhibition "Dear Imaginary Audience" by the New York art duo Eva and Franco Matters, the RKS-Magic cable trays from OBO again become a modern work of art. At Fotomuseum Winterthur in Zürich, the cable trays have been a part of the "Personal Photographs" installation.
OBO cable trays make the digital flow of information physically tangible
The installation guides visitors through the exhibition and turns the debate concerning today's networked world of images into a unique spatial experience. This is because the cables that run along the OBO cable trays connect two microcomputers, upon which images are displayed in a continuous loop. This reflects the influence of modern technology on our daily life.
The artists: Eva and Franco Mattes
The artists Eva and Franco Mattes have, since the mid-1990s, investigated the effects of the Internet on our lives and, in their work, reflect how networked images increasingly define our private and social behaviour. Via the OBO cable trays, the circulation of networked images materialises by snaking through the exhibition space, turning the otherwise abstract flow of information into a physical experience.
Before the current exhibition in Zurich, Eva and Franco Mattes exhibited the RKS-Magic cable trays internationally in Los Angeles, Milan, Montreal and Berlin. In the installation, the cable trays not only stand out through their design and elegance but also through their high level of flexibility and stability.
RKS-Magic® – the innovative plug-in cable tray
The Magic cable tray system from OBO stands for three basic aspects: efficiency, stability and safety. With their innovative plug connection, the cable trays can be connected simply and very quickly, thus providing time savings and work simplification. Without screws, connectors or other accessories, you can increase the mounting speed noticeably and effectively.
