OBO's main site uses 100% green energy
CO2 emissions reduced by 9,800 tonnes per year
A key resource for the production of more than 30,000 OBO products is energy. Around 20 million kilowatt hours are required each year just in the production facilities of our main location in Menden, in Germany. This requirement carries a great deal of responsibility. OBO decided to meet this responsibility and began the conversion to natural electricity generated 100% from renewable sources as early as 2012.
By choosing power from renewable sources, OBO has reduced CO2 emissions by 9,800 tonnes a year. The pure origins of the green power is tested and certified according to strict guidelines by the TÜV Süd monitoring authority. The changeover to green power was a key step for OBO on the road to sustainability and an improved CO2 balance.
